On July 8, 2005, Heartland Cancer Research -- Missouri Baptist Medical Center and the Center for Cancer Care and Research (CCCR) -- was granted Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP) designation by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). One of only 61 programs in the country.

In 2002, Missouri Baptist Medical Center was named the recipient of the inaugural American Hospital Quest for Quality Prize.

The Prize -- sponsored by the American Hospital Association (AHA) and supported by grants from the McKesson Corporation and the McKesson Foundation -- honored Missouri Baptist Medical Center for its leadership and innovation in patient care quality, safety and commitment. Only six hospitals in the country were selected as finalists.
